Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Christian Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Haelyn Morris. The Warriors snuck past the United Christian Academy Crusaders with a 45-39 victory on Thursday for which the team can thank Morris, who posted 23 points along with six steals and five assists. She has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Darbi Hunsberger, who earned nine points and six steals. She has become a key player for Mt. Carmel Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-3 otherwise.

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for United Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Mt. Carmel Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-37 defeat against Bath County on the 6th. As for United Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Regents at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
