League recap: Mcgovern dominating on the mound for Lake-Lehman

Wyoming Valley 2 league recap: 5/21/12

Tyler Mcgovern was the best pitcher in Wyoming Valley 2 this week, leading Lake-Lehman. Over the past week, he had one win and 14 Ks.

Mike Ferrence was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .462 average, one home run and four RBIs. Hanover Area compiled a record of 3-0 in that time.

The Knights' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing three hits and two walks to lead the league in both categories. Lake-Lehman has given up a mere 123 hits on the year, while striking out 152 opposing hitters. Mcgovern is the leader in that category with 64 Ks on the season.

The Hawks' Nick Deno led the league with six hits this week. His 16 hits for the year are eigth in the league, and he boasts a .485 batting average.



Mike Ferrence threw a shutout as he led Hanover Area to victory over Wyoming Seminary College Prep, 5-0, on Wednesday. He struck out 10, allowing three hits.

Troy Shurites had a multi-hit game on Saturday, when he went 4-4 in Lake-Lehman's 5-0 win against Mining & Mechanical Institute. He also drove in one runners.
