Football Recap: St. Edward Comes Up Short

St. Edward extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 1-8. They were dealt a 56-0 defeat at the hands of the Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Fightin' Irish are ranked 82nd).

As for Bishop McNamara, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games.

The critical scores for Bishop McNamara came from Richie Darr, Julius May, Gavin Antons, Zane Gulley, Jordan Callaway, Coen Demack, Jack Latham, and Malachi Lee.
