The Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Treasure Coast by a score of 86-79. Given Archbishop McCarthy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Treasure Coast is ranked 228th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Archbishop McCarthy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Enrique Duboy out in front who scored 22 points along with three steals. The contest was Duboy's seventh in a row with at least ten points. George Sterr was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds.
Archbishop McCarthy's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Treasure Coast, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-5.
Archbishop McCarthy and Westwood will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Westwood is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Treasure Coast will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Deerfield Beach at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Deerfield Beach is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
