Baseball Recap: Bluegrass United Takes a Loss

If Bluegrass United was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Burgin last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluehawks fell just short of the Western Hills Wolverines by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in April.

Bluegrass United saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Hawkins, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one run. Another was Hayden Westfall, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Bluegrass United's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Western Hills, they moved to 15-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Bluegrass United will take on Harrison County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Thorobreds/Fillies will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Bluehawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Western Hills, they are taking a road trip to face off against Madison Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
