Recap: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Arapahoe Warriors
The Eaglecrest Raptors waltzed into their game on Wednesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 45-33 win over Arapahoe. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Eaglecrest has scored all season.
Garrett Barger was his usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of La'quince York, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Arapahoe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brock Moody, who scored four points along with five steals, and Miles McMonigle who scored nine points. It was the first time this season that Moody grabbed two or more steals.
Eaglecrest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Arapahoe, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.
Eaglecrest will head out on the road to challenge Grandview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eaglecrest is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grandview in Colorado (Eaglecrest is ranked seventh, while Grandview is ranked 87th). As for Arapahoe, they will be playing at home against Mullen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arapahoe will be up against Mullen's rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.46 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
