Football Game Preview: Luverne Tigers vs. Daleville Warhawks + How To Watch

The Luverne Tigers will square off against the Daleville Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Luverne has nine straight victories, Daleville has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Luverne is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Goshen: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Eagles out of the water with a 54-21 final score. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by 33 points or more so far this season.

Luverne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kane Smith led the charge by rushing for 186 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while also throwing for 51 yards and two TDs. Those 186 rushing yards gave Smith a new career-high. Elliott Harris was Smith's top target, picking up 14 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 130 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Luverne was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 422 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goshen only rushed for 163.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Daleville was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They were outmatched by Ashford and fell 42-6. The Warhawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-0.

Daleville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Luverne, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Luverne strolled past Daleville in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 37-21. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Warhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
