Volleyball Recap: Loudoun County Comes Up Short

Loudoun County was the 3-0 winner over Musselman when they last played one another back in October of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Captains took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Applemen on Saturday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Musselman scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20.

Bianca Hutzler was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high. Alycia Miller also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Loudoun County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Musselman, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Coincidentally, Loudoun County and Musselman will both be playing Riverside the next time they take the court. The Captains will head out to face the Ram at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, while the Applemen will play them later in the day, at 11:40 a.m.
