Volleyball Recap: Pen Argyl Comes Up Short

Pen Argyl was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Lehighton Indians. The Green Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Pen Argyl had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

Ashlyn Oessenick paced Pen Argyl's offense, picking up 16 kills. Oessenick got some help from Jasmine Holland and her 14 assists.

Pen Argyl's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Lehighton, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pen Argyl will take on rival Jim Thorpe at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Lehighton is set to challenge their familiar foe Palmerton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
