Basketball Recap: Ascent Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Ascent Classical Academy dropped down to 5-16 on Saturday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Loveland Classical Lions, falling 54-34. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-35 back in January.

As for Loveland Classical, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Sean Schaut went supernova, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 20 points and five rebounds. Loveland Classical is undefeated when Schaut posts 15 or more points, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Ruppert, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.

As of now, neither Ascent Classical Academy nor Loveland Classical have any future games scheduled.
