Basketball Recap: Lyquinton Pinkney's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southwood over Booker T. Washington-Shreveport

Southwood lost against Booker T. Washington-Shreveport back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Southwood Cowboys took a hard 78-59 fall against the Booker T. Washington-Shreveport Lions. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lyquinton Pinkney, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Pinkney is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Bryson Williams was another key player, putting up eight points along with six assists and three steals.

Southwood's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Booker T. Washington-Shreveport, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-15.

Coming up, Southwood will face off against Minden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Booker T. Washington-Shreveport, they will head out to take on Woodlawn-Shreveport at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
