Basketball Game Preview: Glen Burnie Gophers vs. Chesapeake Cougars

Glen Burnie and Chesapeake are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Glen Burnie Gophers are taking a road trip to challenge the Chesapeake Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Glen Burnie managed to keep up with St. Charles until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Glen Burnie took a blow against St. Charles, falling 57-30.

Meanwhile, Chesapeake blew past Friends, posting a 61-30 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Chesapeake's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Glen Burnie, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Glen Burnie came up short against Chesapeake in their previous meeting back in January, falling 54-41. Can Glen Burnie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
