Basketball Recap: Riverdale Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Maziyah Williams and Alana Waller

If Riverdale was feeling good fresh off their 54-26 takedown of LEAD Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Riverdale Warriors came up short against the Oakland Patriots on Friday, falling 65-44. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the defeat, Riverdale had strong showings from Alana Waller, who went 10 for 16 on her way to 21 points, and Maziyah Williams, who posted seven points. Those 21 points gave Waller a new career-high.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Oakland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-10 record this season.
