After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pattonville, Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Affton Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-13, 25-20.

Northwest's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-11-3. As for Affton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9-1.

Looking ahead, Northwest will be taking part in a tournament against Windsor at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Affton, they will host Mehlville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
