Cathedral Prep came out on top against Erie on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run second inning. The Ramblers never let the Royals get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Ramblers yet this season.

Nikolas Malec looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andrew Costello was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and five RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 11 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathius Sprickman, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Cathedral Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Cathedral Prep is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. As for Erie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
