Basketball Recap: Westland Hialeah Wildcats vs. Horeb Christian Mustangs

Westland Hialeah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horeb Christian Mustangs. One positive for the Wildcats, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Even though they lost, Westland Hialeah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Horeb Christian only pulled down six.

Leading Horeb Christian to victory were Jonathan Gonzalez and Aiden Ravelo. Gonzalez went 6 for 13 en route to 19 points plus two steals, while Ravelo dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. With that strong performance, Gonzalez is now averaging an impressive 15.8 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Roman, who had 16 points.

Westland Hialeah's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Horeb Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Westland Hialeah will square off against Hialeah at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Horeb Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-69 loss against Jewish Culture on the 4th.
