Basketball Recap: North Thurston Drops Highest Score of Season Against White River

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Thurston). They managed a 93-89 victory over the White River Hornets on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Rams as they're now sitting on four straight.

North Thurston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kurt Cavalier, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 28 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Cavalier's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Anderson, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

North Thurston was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

North Thurston has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for White River, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-1.

North Thurston and Beamer will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. North Thurston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for White River, they will venture away from home to square off against Federal Way at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
