Basketball Game Preview: B O L D Warriors vs. Cedar Mountain Cougars

The B O L D Warriors will head out to face off against the Cedar Mountain Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. B O L D is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.9 points per game this season.

B O L D took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Yellow Medicine East 72-41. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Sting are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

B O L D's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Gross, who went 9 of 17 on his way to 25 points along with five boards and three blocks. The matchup was Gross' tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Penkert, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cedar Mountain's undefeated season came to an end after 14 games on Tuesday. They fell just short of Springfield by a score of 56-53. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.

B O L D has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Cedar Mountain, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 14-1.

Everything came up roses for B O L D against Cedar Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 79-44 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for B O L D since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
