Volleyball Game Preview: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

Cheyenne is 0-3 against Shadow Ridge since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Desert Shields will take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m.

Cheyenne is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 24th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cimarron-Memorial.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge entered their tilt with Foothill on Wednesday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since March 4th.

Shadow Ridge got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 38-40, 25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 15-9.

Cheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Shadow Ridge, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Cheyenne might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Shadow Ridge in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Desert Shields avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
