Softball Recap: Springstead Has No Trouble Against Central

Springstead won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Springstead Eagles' way against the Central Bears as the Springstead Eagles made off with a 13-0 victory. The game marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season so far.

Springstead let ELLA ANN CEPHUS and KAYLANA LYONS run wild. CEPHUS went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two runs, while LYONS scored two runs while going 2-for-3. KAMIE POND was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Springstead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted an OBP of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Springstead and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Coming up, Springstead will head out on the road to face off against Wiregrass Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pasco at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.
