Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Takes a Loss

It was a good run, but Lake Norman unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Sun Valley Spartans by a score of 4-3.

Lake Norman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andres Acurero, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Acurero has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Noah Jacobsen was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Lake Norman's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Sun Valley, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-3.

Coming up, Lake Norman will face off against South Caldwell at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lake Norman 3.1, South Caldwell 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Sun Valley, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-7 victory against South Mecklenburg on the 25th.
