Volleyball Recap: Ravenna Ravens vs. Coventry Comets

Ravenna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat. They came up short against the Coventry Comets, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-11, 25-7, 25-10.

Jalysia Thompson paced Ravenna's offense, picking up four kills. Thompson got some help from Jordyn Allen and her six assists. Mackenzie Ervin controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Piper Philips had a dynamite game For Coventry., getting nine digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Philips a new career-high. Brooke Amedio also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Ravenna's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Coventry, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Ravenna has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Field on the 9th. As for Coventry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against St. Vincent-St. Mary on the 8th.
