Soccer Game Preview: St. Paul's vs. Gulf Breeze

The St. Paul's Wolves will challenge the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Paul's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

St. Paul's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Alexandria 6-0. The result was nothing new for Wolves, who have now won five matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Alexandria with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bryce Bordes (2), Liam Dannels- Smith (2), and Marc Jones (2).

Meanwhile, Gulf Breeze narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Niceville 1-0. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked 127th), the result last Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gulf Breeze's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four games. As for St. Paul's, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season.
