Basketball Recap: Bryson Lane's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Howard over Delcastle Technical

Howard has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-58 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delcastle Technical Cougars. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Delaware basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Cougars are ranked 41st).

Howard's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryson Lane, who posted 19 points and seven boards. Lane continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nick Baysah was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Howard's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Delcastle Technical, their record is now 5-15.

Howard has already played their next contest, a 64-48 loss against Odessa on the 18th. As for Delcastle Technical, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-49 defeat against Conrad Science on the 18th.
