Softball Game Preview: Taft Tigers vs. Tillamook Cheesemakers

The Taft Tigers will face off against the Tillamook Cheesemakers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Taft came up short against Yamhill-Carlton, falling 12-1. Taft has struggled against Yamhill-Carlton recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Tillamook and Scappoose meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Cheesemakers lost 10-1 to the Indians.

Tillamook's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Taft couldn't quite finish off Tillamook in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 and fell 20-18. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
