Softball Game Preview: Barberton Magics vs. Aurora Greenmen

Barberton is 0-8 against Aurora since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Magics will square off against the Greenmen at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Barberton made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Ketchikan, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Magics' pitchers stepped up to hand the Kings a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Magics.

Meanwhile, Aurora entered their tilt with Highland on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Hornets.

Aurora pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Barberton, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Barberton suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Aurora in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Magics avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
