Basketball Recap: Hamilton Heights Falls Despite Big Games from Katie Brown and Sarah Sherrill

Hamilton Heights won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They came up short against the Kokomo Wildkats, falling 58-37. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildkats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Hamilton Heights' loss came despite strong showings from Sarah Sherrill and Katie Brown. Sherrill went 6 for 8 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds, while Brown went 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Eliana Stewart continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kokomo, going 7 of 11 on her way to 17 points along with seven boards and four steals. Those 17 points gave Stewart a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaela Drake, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 16 points and five steals.

Hamilton Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Kokomo, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Hamilton Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-29 victory against Blackford on the 21st. As for Kokomo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-44 win against Marion on the 20th.
