Baseball Game Preview: Durango Trailblazers vs. Bishop Gorman Gaels

For the second straight game, Durango will face off against Bishop Gorman. The Trailblazers will be playing at home against the Gaels at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Durango: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Bishop Gorman has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Durango and Bishop Gorman, and Bishop Gorman kept the tradition alive. The Trailblazers fell 9-4 to the Gaels on Tuesday.

For Bishop Gorman's part, they got a great performance from Hudson Ciulla as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Ciulla has posted since back in February.

At the plate, DaMari Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Justin Rodrigues was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bishop Gorman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Durango's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Bishop Gorman, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
