Recap: Taft Raiders vs. Brennan Bears
The Taft Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Brennan on the road and fell 75-47. While losing is never fun, Taft can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 526th, while Brennan is ranked 33rd).
Brennan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Ward led the charge by dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Ward's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Camden Cowgill, who scored 14 points along with six steals and five assists.
Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Brennan, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing O'Connor the next time they take the court. Taft will host O'Connor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Brennan will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
