Basketball Recap: Windham Comes Up Short

Windham lost against Maplewood back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Windham Bombers took a blow against the Maplewood Rockets, falling 54-27. While losing is never fun, the Bombers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 750th, while the Rockets are ranked 184th).

Maplewood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Morgan Himes out in front who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points along with six steals and five assists. Himes has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliah Brumit, who posted 15 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Windham and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Maplewood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Windham didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-11 loss against Mogadore on the 18th. Maplewood has also already played their next game, a 58-22 victory against Chalker on the 18th.
