La Jolla dropped their record down to 15-10 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Clairemont Chieftains by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since March 8th.

Abel Delgadillo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ryan Kestler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Clairemont, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.

On Clairemont's side, the team relied heavily on Connor Trevino, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Trevino has hit this season. Bo Osland was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clairemont beat La Jolla by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday.
