Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camden County). They walked away with a 42-31 win over the Manteo Redskins on Saturday. The Bruins didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mya Kelly, who posted five points along with seven boards and six steals. Kelly has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Jazmine Cooper was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.
Camden County picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-19. As for Manteo, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-17.
Camden County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Manteo, they will take on Currituck County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Currituck County will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Manteo surely won't give up without a fight.
