Football Recap: Hulett Devils vs. HEM Miners

Hulett had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the HEM Miners by a score of 85-74. The win was some much needed relief for the Devils as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

HEM lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Naythen Atencio, who picked up 255 receiving yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Noah Scott was another key passer, throwing for 374 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

HEM's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Hulett will square off against Riverside on Friday. As for HEM, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Farson-Eden at 1:00 p.m. on September 20th. Hopefully HEM focused on turnovers this week as team gave up five on Saturday.
