Volleyball Recap: Maple Lake Takes a Loss

Maple Lake had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it four. They lost 3-0 to the Paynesville Bulldogs. The Irish were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Paynesville, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Among those leading the charge was McKenna Barton, who had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven contests.

Maple Lake has already played their next matchup (against New Ulm), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Paynesville, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Osakis on the 15th.
