Softball Recap: Whippany Park Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Whippany Park fell victim to West Morris Central and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolfpack. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 6-4 to the Wolfpack when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kiera Swartz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

Whippany Park's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for West Morris Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whippany Park will welcome Boonton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bombers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.67 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Morris Central, they will take on Morristown at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Wolfpack's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
