In what's become a running theme this season, the Athenian Owls gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 81-31 win over Valley Christian at home. That looming 81-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Athenian yet this season.
Athenian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sid Bharath, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Bharath scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Lucas, who scored 16 points.
Athenian is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Valley Christian, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Athenian will stay at home for another game and welcome Redwood Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Redwood Christian has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. As for Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against College Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
