Basketball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hoopeston last Tuesday, Monticello came back down to earth. The Monticello Sages were outmatched by the Bloomington Central Catholic Saints and fell 49-18. The contest marked the Sages' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Emma Arnold was Monticello's leading scorer, having posted six points. Arnold also led the team in rebounds with nine.

Emme Hurie continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bloomington Central Catholic, going 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points along with six boards and six steals. Kate Stolfa was another key player, putting up nine points.

Monticello moved to 9-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Bloomington Central Catholic, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
