Basketball Game Preview: Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles vs. Crosspoint Christian

The Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles will challenge Crosspoint Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Westwood Baptist Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Thomas Jefferson School 71-10. The Eagles have beaten the Titan the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Titan has come to flipping the script.

Gage Barker went supernova, going 9-for-12 en route to 19 points and five steals. What's more, he also posted a 75% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Robbie Dodd was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points.

Meanwhile, Crosspoint Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They blew past Rivers of Life Christian, posting a 61-23 victory.

Westwood Baptist Academy took their win against Crosspoint Christian in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 54-32 score. In that matchup, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 33-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
