Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is St. Stanislaus' Seventh in Last Eight Outings

While St. Stanislaus's win against Heritage Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The St. Stanislaus Rock-a-Chaws skirted past the Heritage Academy Patriots 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rock-a-Chaws have posted since April 12, 2024.

Warren Gunter was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Stephen Hutchison also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

St. Stanislaus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. Heritage Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, St. Stanislaus will head out on the road to challenge Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Perry Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Heritage Academy, they will challenge Lawrence County at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence County also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 9.6 runs per game.
