Softball Game Preview: Camden Hills Windjammers vs. Lewiston Blue Devils

Camden Hills is 0-7 against Lewiston since April of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Windjammers will host the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Camden Hills is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

On Wednesday, Camden Hills earned a 6-1 victory over Brewer.

Maya Stone was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thea Laukka, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Evangelene Morneau was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Lewiston fell victim to Oxford Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The match marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Camden Hills pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lewiston, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
