Soccer Game Preview: Roncalli vs. Algoma

The Roncalli Jets will head out on the road to challenge the Algoma Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Algoma will have to contend with a Roncalli squad hungry for a win, something the team hasn't seen since September 20. Roncalli lost 7-0 to Kohler on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Roncalli can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Kohler are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Algoma). Everything went their way against Kewaunee on Monday as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Algoma considering their one-goal performance the contest before.

Roncalli's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-4. As for Algoma, their win bumped their record up to 8-4-2.

Roncalli took their victory against Algoma when the teams last played back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
