Baseball Game Preview: Southridge Raiders vs. North Posey Vikings

The Southridge Raiders will venture away from home to take on the North Posey Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Evansville Memorial hit Southridge with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Raiders fell 7-2 to the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between North Posey and Evansville Harrison, and Evansville Harrison kept the tradition alive. The Vikings came up short against the Warriors on Wednesday, falling 12-6.

Ethan Mansfield was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as he's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Tuley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

North Posey's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Southridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Southridge suffered a grim 13-6 defeat to North Posey when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
