Football Preview: Salisbury Panthers vs. Westran Hornets
Salisbury hasn't had much luck against Westran recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Salisbury Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Westran Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Salisbury comes in on four and Westran on six.
Last Friday, Salisbury earned a 36-26 victory over Crest Ridge/Chilhowee.
Meanwhile, Westran had just enough and edged Clark County out 22-20 on Friday.
Gage Adler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 34 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 234 yards and a touchdown. A healthy portion of that aerial production (88 yards to be exact) went to Marshall Kitchen.
Westran wouldn't let Clark County keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Korbin Perry, Dc Dale, and Jack Harlan picked up one apiece.
Salisbury's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Westran, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Salisbury suffered a grim 35-14 defeat to Westran in their previous meeting back in October of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Salisbury was down 28-8.
