Basketball Recap: North Tonawanda Skates Past Niagara Falls with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Tonawanda). They blew past the Niagara Falls Wolverines 87-42 on Tuesday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Tonawanda to victory, but perhaps none more so than Annabelle Day, who almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. The match was Day's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lilly Day, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards.

North Tonawanda smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

North Tonawanda's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Niagara Falls, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

North Tonawanda will be playing in front of their home fans against Niagara-Wheatfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Niagara Falls will take on Kenmore West in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
