Soccer Game Preview: Colfax-Mingo vs. Nevada

Colfax-Mingo has won three straight games at home, while Nevada has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Tigerhawks will host the Cubs. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Wednesday, Colfax-Mingo got the win against Benton by a conclusive 7-1.

Meanwhile, Nevada hasn't lost a match since May 1st, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. They never let South Tama County get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Nevada's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while South Tama County are ranked 196th).

Nevada has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 79 goals over those 12 matches. As for Colfax-Mingo, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1-5.

Colfax-Mingo suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Nevada in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigerhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
