Baseball Game Preview: South Beloit Sobos vs. Alden-Hebron Green Giants

For the second straight game, South Beloit will face off against Alden-Hebron. The Sobos will be playing at home against the Green Giants at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Beloit will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

South Beloit will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Alden-Hebron, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Sobos put the hurt on the Green Giants with a sharp 15-1 victory on Tuesday. That looming 15-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Sobos yet this season.

Cesar Alfaro was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Jonah Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Alfaro wasn't the only one making solid contact: South Beloit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
