Softball Recap: Oneonta Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Oneonta had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Chenango Valley Warriors. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the 14-3 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Jenevie Gallusser made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Gallusser was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Pelligra, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Oneonta's record is now 5-2. As for Chenango Valley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Oneonta will square off against Windsor Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Black Knights have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Chenango Valley, they will face off against Waverly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
