Valor Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Legacy Lightning 9-7. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lightning: they've now won three in a row.

Brigham Brown looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Max Matteucci was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Travis Kenz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The win got Valor Christian back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valor Christian will take on Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Valor Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Legacy, they will be playing at home against ThunderRidge at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
