Basketball Game Preview: Sheridan Generals vs. Fairfield Union Falcons

Sheridan and Fairfield Union are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Sheridan Generals will venture away from home to square off against the Fairfield Union Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sheridan will be strutting in after a victory while Fairfield Union will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Saturday, Sheridan beat Athens 60-52. Given the Generals' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Fairfield Union suffered their closest loss since January 6th on Monday. They fell just short of Logan Elm by a score of 49-46. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fairfield Union's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Sheridan, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Sheridan barely slipped by Fairfield Union in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 52-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sheridan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
