Softball Recap: Asotin Takes a Loss

Asotin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Liberty Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-3 loss last Tuesday.

Kiera Nielson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Leilani Koehler was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3.

Asotin's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Liberty, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Asotin will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colfax at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
